Job summary

Gerber Collision & Glass in Minnesota is seeking an Auto Body Technician to deliver an exceptional customer experience by repairing vehicles to pre-accident condition. You will disassemble, repair, and reassemble, ensuring speed, quality and customer excellence across the shop.

You will work with the team to plan repairs, prepare cost estimates, realign chassis, replace damaged parts including glass, weld and repaint, and inspect completed work within labor guidelines.

Qualifications

• High school diploma or equivalent required.
• Successful completion of technical school program or a 3-year apprenticeship as an auto body repairer.
• Ability to read job orders and work with very little supervision.
• Ability to work with other repairers within an auto body shop.
• Thorough understanding of methods and procedures to repair vehicle bodies.
• Must be able to lift up to 30 pounds at times.
• Must be able to bend, stretch, kneel, and squat to perform repairs and inspections.

Responsibilities

• Plan the repair work and prepare cost estimates for customers.
• Disassemble, repair, and reassemble vehicles to restore pre-accident condition.
• Realign chassis and frames to repair structural damage.
• Replace damaged sections with new or aftermarket parts; repair glass and windshields.
• Weld and attach or fit parts; repaint vehicles to factory specifications.
• Complete work orders within labor time guidelines and inspect vehicles after repair.
• Perform other related duties as assigned.
