Job summary

Gerber Collision & Glass in Fort Walton Beach, FL is seeking an Auto Body Technician to expertly assess and repair vehicles to pre-accident condition, using precision and attention to detail.

You will disassemble, repair, reassemble, weld and repaint vehicles, and help meet KPIs while delivering an outstanding customer experience. The role requires teamwork and adherence to safety standards, with opportunities for growth.

Qualifications

• High school diploma or equivalent required.
• Successful completion of technical school program OR a 3-year apprenticeship as an auto body repairer.
• Ability to read job orders and work with very little supervision.
• Thorough understanding of methods and procedures to repair vehicle bodies.
• Must be able to lift up to 30 pounds and perform repairs in various conditions.

Responsibilities

• Plans the repair work and prepares cost estimates for customers.
• Uses cutting guns, plasma cutters, hydraulic jacks, hammers and pliers to repair sections of a vehicle.
• Hammers out dents and repairs minor body damage; applies filler resins when needed.
• Realigns car chassis and frames to repair structural damage.
• Replaces or repairs damaged sections and glass; welds and paints as required.
• Completes work orders within labor time guidelines and inspects vehicles after repair.
