Job summary

Devereux is seeking a Substitute Special Education Teacher for elementary autistic support within Neshaminy School District. This on-call, 10-month position runs 8:20-3:50, with a 10-month calendar and potential summer extension.

Per diem role involves delivering specialized instruction and supporting students with autism in a small-class setting. The role offers a mission-driven work environment, ongoing professional development, and collaborative team support within Devereux’s CES framework.

Qualifications

• Bachelor’s degree in Special Education is required.
• Experience with autism support or similar programs is preferred.
• PA Special Education certification (full or substitute) is required for the role.

Responsibilities

• Implement lesson plans provided by the classroom teacher.
• Deliver specialized instruction to students with autism and related learning needs.
• Maintain a positive, structured, and supportive learning environment.
• Monitor and assess student progress toward academic and behavioral goals.
• Support the implementation of IEPs.
• Collaborate with paraprofessionals and other support staff.
• Adapt instruction to meet individual student needs.
• Maintain documentation and follow district procedures.
