Job summary

Devereux Advanced Behavioral Health in Downingtown, PA, is seeking a dedicated individual to support classrooms for children diagnosed with autism. You will collaborate with Special Education Teachers to implement skill acquisition and behavioral reduction programs, while ensuring safety and consistent routines.

This full-time, 52-week position runs Monday–Friday, 8am–4pm, with pay from $17.50 to $19.95 per hour.

Qualifications

• Education: High School Diploma required; Associate’s degree or completion of two years of post-secondary education preferred.
• Experience: Previous experience in a special education or behavioral healthcare setting with students with severe/complex behavioral/emotional issues preferred.

Responsibilities

• Assist in establishing classroom environments that are conducive to maximum learning by maintaining structure and guiding students to socially appropriate behaviors
• Responsible for the children's welfare, safety, and location at all times, including during arrival and dismissal
• Work with the Special Education Teachers to implement skill acquisition and behavioral reduction programs individually and in small groups
• Perform ongoing data collection and record keeping as directed by the Special Education Teacher
• Support and reinforce PBIS goals and objectives
