Job summary

Qualifications

• Bachelor’s Degree from accredited college or university.
• Valid teaching certificate, Special Education certified.
• Valid Special Education teaching certificate.
• Be eligible for the appropriate Probationary Certificate through a TEA approved Teacher Certification Program.

Responsibilities

• Participate in ARD Committee meetings on a regular basis.
• Collaborate with students, parents, and other staff to develop IEPs through the ARD process for each student.
• Develop and implement curriculum plans and show written evidence of preparation.
• Prepare lessons reflecting accommodations for individual student differences.
• Use technologies in the teaching/learning process.
• Supervise teacher assistants and/or volunteers.
• Establish classroom discipline and ensure safety per IEPs and district policies.
