Job summary

Henry County Public Schools seeks a Special Population Paraprofessional (Autism) to support students under the supervision of a principal and special education teacher. You will help plan and provide engaging learning experiences, supervise students, and maintain required records in alignment with IEP goals.

Qualifications

• Associate’s Degree or 48 credit hours from an accredited college or university or ParaPro passing score.
• Experience assisting in planning and implementing instruction aligned to IEPs.
• Ability to supervise students and maintain required records per HCPS policies.

Responsibilities

• Assist in planning a program of study aligned with student IEPs.
• Instruct students at scheduled times and locations.
• Create a classroom environment that engages students and meets objectives.
• Provide instructional support and organize materials prior to instruction.
• Guide learning toward curriculum goals and communicate objectives to students.
• Use instructional methods and resources to achieve learning objectives.
• Implement safety precautions to protect students and property.
• Maintain accurate records as required by law and HCPS policies.
• Enforce classroom rules and maintain order with fairness.
• Attend staff meetings as required.
