Job summary

Atlanta Public Schools is seeking an hourly paraprofessional to support teachers in meeting the educational, behavioral, and social emotional needs of students in the classroom and community. The Hourly Paraprofessional provides assistance to certified teachers with in-person instruction, organization, and management strategies.

This position reports to the School Principal and will be assigned to be physically present in the school building location.

Qualifications

• Current GA Paraprofessional Certificate or approved alternative per listed options.
• High School Diploma or GED required.
• Associate's degree or two years of college acceptable.
• Two years of experience with children preferred.
• Available for face-to-face instruction on-site.

Responsibilities

• Assist teachers with in-person instruction and classroom management.
• Support small groups or individual students in-person.
• Communicate proactively with teachers and parents.
• Assist during standardized testing and with lesson materials.
• Distribute supplies, materials, and technology.
• Monitor student movement and maintain sanitation standards.
• Train and supervise volunteers as needed.
• Engage in professional learning opportunities on-site.
