Job summary

Building Connections Academy in Concord, CA seeks a School-Based Special Education Paraprofessional to provide 1:1 behavioral and academic support to students with autism and other developmental differences. Must have or obtain RBT certification within 90 days; high school diploma or equivalent is required, Bachelor’s in a related field preferred.

Qualifications

• RBT certification is required or willing to obtain within 90 days.
• High school diploma or equivalent; a related bachelor’s degree is preferred.
• Reliable transportation, valid driver’s license, and auto insurance.
• Immunizations including MMR, Tdap, Varicella, Hep B and TB clearance.

Responsibilities

• Provide behavioral and educational support in a school setting.
• Implement individualized programs and collect data to track progress.
• Teach communication, social, play, and self-help skills.
• Encourage independence and build positive relationships with students.
