Job summary

A local educational institution is seeking a compassionate Instructional Assistant in New Milford to support students with Autism Spectrum Disorder. This role involves working closely with special education teachers to implement individualized education programs (IEPs) while assisting students in academic, social, and behavioral activities. Candidates should have a high school diploma and a desire to support students with special needs, along with strong organizational skills and the ability to work as part of a team. Training will be provided.

Qualifications

• High school diploma or equivalent required; associate's or bachelor's degree preferred.
• Experience working with students with Autism or other special needs is a plus.
• Strong organizational skills and attention to detail.

Responsibilities

• Assist in the implementation of IEPs by working with students individually or in small groups.
• Support students in developing social skills, communication, and independence.
• Provide support in daily activities, including transitions and personal care.
