Job summary

Bedford Public Schools seeks an Educational Support Professional for the Sail 1 Program (ESP-3). The ESP-3 provides direct support to students with autism in a sub-separate classroom, delivering individualized academic and behavior programs under BCBA and special education teacher supervision.

Responsibilities include reinforcing social interaction programs, data collection, small group or one-on-one instruction, collaboration with teachers, crisis de-escalation, and participation in school

Qualifications

• Direct support to students in a sub-separate classroom using ABA-based instruction.
• Ability to collect data on academic and behavioral support plans.
• Willingness to participate in five days of specialized training before the start of school.

Responsibilities

• Support classroom routines and procedures; reinforce social interaction programs by modeling positive behavior.
• Provide supervision and/or student support services in all school environments (recess, lunch, arrival, dismissal, field trips).
• Provide small group or individual instructional support aligned with student goals and IEPs.
• Consult with teachers in preparation for daily classes to learn targets and expectations.
• Support academic and behavioral programs including data collection and graphing progress.
