Job summary

Bedford Public Schools seeks an Educational Support Professional (Sail 1 Program ESP-3) as a long-term substitute through October. The ESP supports students with Autism in a sub-separate classroom using ABA-based instruction, data collection, and individualized programs.

The role involves supervising students, providing instructional support, and collaborating with teachers. Five days of specialized training are provided before the school year begins.

Qualifications

• Ability to adapt to diverse learning styles.
• Knowledge of social-emotional learning (SEL).
• Knowledge of de-escalation strategies and restraint protocols.
• Ability to collaborate and participate as a member of a teaching team.

Responsibilities

• Support classroom routines and procedures; reinforce social interaction programs and assist with behavioral support.
• Provide supervision and/or student support services in all school environments (recess, lunch, arrival, dismissal, field trips) and escorting students as needed.
• Provide small group or individual instructional support aligned with student goals and IEPs.
• Consult with teachers to become familiar with learning targets and success criteria.
• Support academic and behavioral programs, including data collection and progress monitoring.
