Job summary

ResponsiveEd’s Foundation School of Autism is seeking an instructional aide to support students with autism in a Special Education setting. You will assist teachers, help implement IEPs, and foster student participation in classroom activities.

Ideal candidates have an Educational Aide certification or equivalent and applicable experience; 48 college credits or a relevant degree can satisfy requirements. Opportunities for collaboration with therapists and school staff are available.

Qualifications

• Educational Aide certification is required or obtainable soon after employment.
• Candidates meet one of the minimum education requirements listed.
• A university bachelor’s degree is preferred for advancement potential.

Responsibilities

• Assist in the educational and social development of students under the teacher and campus leadership.
• Assist in implementing Individual Education Plans and monitor student progress.
• Provide support for individual students inside and outside the classroom.
• Collaborate with speech, occupational, and physical therapists as needed.
• Assist with maintaining student records and documentation.
• Support behavior management strategies in line with school policies for students with disabilities.
• Follow school board policies, procedures, and operational guidelines.
