Job summary

Kennewick School District seeks a Paraeducator for the Tier II Autism Program at Hawthorne Elementary School. This 6-hour/day, 180-day/year position involves supervising students with Autism and collaborating with the SPED team to implement instructional strategies.

Salary ranges from $23.15 to $26.65 per hour with potential extra pay up to $0.60/hour based on college credits. Open date 10/20/2026; close date 10/27/2026 at 10:00 PM, or until filled.

Qualifications

• Must have a high school diploma or equivalent.
• AA degree OR 72 quarter college credits OR 48 semester college credits OR a passing score on approved assessments.
• Must attach unofficial transcript proving AA degree or equivalent; official transcripts required within 30 days of hire.
• Must be able to perform essential functions with or without reasonable accommodation.
• Must be able to meet the Physical Demands of the position.
• Must pass a basic skills test.
• CPI Level I and II training must be obtained.
• Must pass a background check including fingerprinting.

Responsibilities

• Provide direct support to special education students in the Tier II Autism program.
• Provide support for physical/health needs of students as required.
• Assist teachers with clerical or instructional tasks.
• Assist with data collection.
• Implement prescribed behavioral strategies.
• Supervise students to promote a safe, orderly learning climate.
• Complete required paperwork with accuracy for compliance.
• Supervise students during recess and other activities as required.
• Maintain regular attendance and punctuality.
