Job summary

Hawthorne Elementary School in Kennewick, WA is seeking a Paraeducator for the Tier II Autism Program. This 6-hour day role operates 180 days per year with a starting date of immediately and a salary range of $23.15 to $26.65 per hour.

The paraeducator will work with students with Autism and collaborate with the special education teacher and staff. The position requires documentation, CPI training, and the ability to follow district policies.

Qualifications

• Must have a high school diploma or equivalent.
• Must have an AA degree OR 72 quarter college credits OR 48 semester college credits OR a passing score on one of the assessments approved by the Professional Educator Standards Board.
• Must attach unofficial transcript proving AA degree or equivalent to application.

Responsibilities

• Provide direct support to special education students in the Tier II Autism program.
• Provide support for physical/health needs of students as required.
• Assist teachers with needed clerical or instructional tasks.
• Assist with data collection.
• Will implement prescribed strategies for behavioral interventions.
• Supervise students during recess times within the school day.
• Perform other job-related duties as assigned.
