Job summary

LEARN Regional Educational Service Center in Connecticut is seeking an Intervention Specialist/Paraprofessional to support students with autism and developmental disabilities across learning, communication, behavioral, social-emotional, and community environments.

You will implement individualized supports, collaborate with a multidisciplinary team, collect data, and help students build independence, communication, and life skills.

Qualifications

• Associate's Degree, completion of at least 60 college credits, or Bachelor's Degree.
• High School Diploma and successful completion of the ParaPro Assessment.
• Ability to work effectively as part of a multidisciplinary team.
• Strong communication and interpersonal skills.
• Commitment to maintaining student confidentiality, professionalism, and ethical practice.

Responsibilities

• Implement individualized instructional and behavioral supports aligned with student IEPs and goals.
• Support students in developing communication, self-advocacy, social interaction, and self-regulation skills.
• Utilize evidence-based practices designed for autism and developmental disabilities.
• Assist in implementing Behavior Intervention Plans and positive behavioral strategies.
• Collect and monitor student data to guide instructional decisions.
• Collaborate with teachers, therapists, nurses, and families to ensure consistent support.
