Job summary

American Traveler, LLC. is seeking a Special Education Teacher for an autism classroom in an elementary school setting in Colorado Springs. The role requires a CO Special Education Generalist credential and a solid understanding of autism-related communication and behavior.

You will work a day shift from 8:00 AM to 2:30 PM, totaling 37.5 hours per week, in a non-clinical elementary environment. The district requires in-person fingerprinting onboarding, and first-time travelers may be considered

Qualifications

• CO Special Education Generalist credential required (license required if applicable)
• Understanding of core characteristics of autism and associated communication/behavioral deficits required

Responsibilities

• Non-clinical elementary school setting
• Special education classroom supporting students with autism
• Part of the WISC program (Widefield Inclusive Social Communication) for students with autism
• Day shift schedule, 8:00 AM to 2:30 PM
• 37.5 hours per week
• Supports students with autism within a dedicated classroom setting
• Fingerprinting and onboarding/orientation must be completed in person at the District Office prior to start
• First-time travelers may be considered
