Job summary

Gersh Autism is seeking a compassionate Behavior Technician to support students with ASD in a West Hempstead, NY classroom. You will implement IEPs/BIPs, provide one-on-one and small group support, and help students with communication, social interaction, and self-management.

This 12-month school-year role offers growth through training with behavioral analysts, collaboration with the teaching team, and opportunities to advance within Gersh Autism's network.

Qualifications

• High school diploma or equivalent; higher education preferred.
• Experience with children or autism is a plus but not required.
• Willingness to pursue RBT certification within the timeframe.

Responsibilities

• Assist with IEPs and BIPs for students with autism.
• Provide one-on-one and small group support to students.
• Help students with daily tasks, communication, and self-management.
• Prepare students and materials for activities and transitions.
• Support classrooms during events and field trips.
• Document data on student performance and progress toward goals.
• Collaborate with teachers and behavioral specialists.
• Participate in daily training sessions with analysts.
