Job summary

Minnesota Autism Center in Hermantown, MN seeks a Behavior Therapist to deliver one-on-one and group ABA therapy to children with autism. The role reports to the Center Leader and involves implementing individualized treatment plans, data collection, and family collaboration.

The position requires a high school diploma or GED, with a preference for a bachelor’s degree in psychology, education, or human services, plus experience with children. Willingness to pursue RBT certification is a plus.

Qualifications

• High school diploma or GED required.
• Bachelor's degree in psychology, education, human services, or related field preferred.
• Previous experience working with children preferred.
• Willingness to obtain an RBT certification if hired as a level 3 BT.
• Interest in working with individuals diagnosed with autism spectrum disorder.

Responsibilities

• Implement individualized ABA treatment plans developed by a BCBA.
• Provide direct therapy services to learners in a center-based setting.
• Teach communication, social, daily living, play, and adaptive skills.
• Utilize ABA teaching strategies including reinforcement, prompting, shaping, and behavior reduction techniques.
• Record session data accurately and complete documentation using an iPad.
• Monitor learner progress and report observations to supervisor BCBA.
• Assist with behavior intervention plans and respond to challenging behaviors.
• Maintain a safe, structured, and supportive therapeutic environment.
• Collaborate with families and interdisciplinary team members to support learner goals.
• Participate in staff trainings, supervision meetings, and professional development.
