Job summary

West Valley School District #363 Orchard Center Elementary in Spokane Valley, WA seeks a Paraeducator - Autism to provide 1:1 student support under supervision. The role requires MTSS-based training, collaborations with teachers and therapists, and ongoing communication to monitor progress.

Applicants must have a high school diploma or equivalent and meet the optional education criteria. The position is on-site with competitive hourly pay and benefits per district policy.

Qualifications

• High School Diploma or equivalent; and one of the listed education options.
• Demonstrated ability and aptitude to perform the responsibilities listed.
• Desire to work with vulnerable students with a broad range of disabilities.

Responsibilities

• Develop positive, professional relationships with students and build trust.
• Provide secondary instructional support in the classroom under teacher supervision.
• Work with students individually or in groups to reinforce learning.
• Assist with classroom setup and prepare materials for activities.
• Observe and utilize techniques used by the special education team.
• Assist in data collection as prescribed by IEP goals.
• Follow appropriate protocols when reporting incidents/behavior etc.

Education

High School Diploma or equivalent; AND one of Associate Arts or higher degree OR 72-quarter credits (48 semester credits) from an accredited college, OR Pass an academically rigorous assessment.
