Job summary

West Valley School District is seeking a One to One Special Education Paraprofessional for WV Middle Level Campus in Yakima, WA. The role supports teachers by supervising and instructing students, implementing IEPs, and maintaining progress records in a variety of settings.

The position requires a high school diploma or equivalent and ESEA Highly Qualified credentials, with assessments or approved training as applicable. This is a full-time, on-site paraeducator role with SEBB benefits.

Qualifications

• Requires high school diploma or equivalent and paraprofessional eligibility under ESEA Highly Qualified Requirements.
• Candidates must meet one of: 2 year degree OR 72 quarter credits.
• Paraprofessional assessments or approved training are required.

Responsibilities

• Assist students individually or in small groups to reinforce learning concepts as directed by the teacher.
• Follow a structured teaching and learning plan and perform direct instruction tutoring.
• Maintain progress records and communicate student status to the teacher.
• Support safety and behavior management in multiple school settings: classroom, playground, cafeteria, library, bus.
• Mainstream students as needed and assist substitute teachers with assigned students.
