Job summary

Team Select Home Care seeks an Authorization Specialist II, RCM to manage authorization requests for all insurances. You will report to the Authorization Manager, RCM and ensure accurate eligibility checks, timely authorizations, and proper documentation.

Responsibilities include handling pre-authorization, reauthorization, and appeals when required, while coordinating with field staff and internal teams to verify patient coverage and consent requirements.

Qualifications

• Excellent verbal and written communication skills across all levels of authority.
• Strong organization, problem solving, and project management abilities.
• Able to independently file appeals with multiple payors.
• Troubleshoot eligibility issues with internal teams as it relates to insurance coverage.

Responsibilities

• Check eligibility/benefits for patients at intake and monthly for non-Medicaid insurances.
• Obtain annual eligibility details, patient deductibles, and out-of-pocket costs.
• Notify staff when patient responsibility requires consent verification.
• Track and obtain authorizations for all locations and reauthorizations as needed.
• Enter authorization data into the EMR and verify payer setup for active policies.
