The Authorization and Referral Specialist is responsible for the timely processing, submitting, scheduling and follow up of referrals and request for treatment authorizations as required by payer. The Authorization and Referral Specialist tracks existing referrals by program and payer. The Authorization and Referral Specialist position requires excellent customer service skills with patients, employees, and the public. Individual must also be flexible, organized and must be able to manage a demanding workload with accuracy.
