Job summary

UCI Health is seeking an Authorization Specialist to verify eligibility, obtain benefit information, and generate letters for authorisation. The role also handles Member Services and Call Center inquiries and resolves any authorisation issues that arise.

The incumbent will follow established guidelines and coordinate with health system teams to ensure accurate processing and timely responses.

Qualifications

• Must demonstrate customer service skills appropriate to the job.
• Ability to work weekends/holidays as needed.
• Experience using office equipment (printer, copier, fax, scanner).
• Experience with multi-line phones and basic data entry.

Responsibilities

• Incumbent is responsible for obtaining all necessary authorisations in accordance with guidelines.
• Verifies eligibility, obtains benefit information, and generates letters for authorisation.
• Responds to Member Services and Call Center inquiries and resolves authorisation issues.
