Job summary

ID.me is seeking a Software Engineer III to join the Wallet - Authentication team, building the core sign-in, registration, and account management experiences used by over 140 million members. This on-site role at Mountain View, CA or McLean, VA involves delivering secure, scalable authentication features end-to-end and collaborating with Product, Design, Security, and other engineers.

You will work across the authentication stack, applying security best practices and contributing to code

Qualifications

• Bachelor's degree in CS, Engineering, or related field.
• 3+ years of full-stack web development experience.
• Experience with authentication standards (OAuth2, OpenID Connect, SAML, or FIDO2/WebAuthn).
• Experience building or contributing to fraud detection, real-time risk engines, or abuse mitigation systems.
• Ability to independently ship well-tested, production-quality features with minimal oversight.

Responsibilities

• Build, ship, and maintain the Wallet authentication features (sign-in, registration, MFA, recovery, and MyWallet).
• Own and evolve the real-time risk engine and its integration across authentication flows.
• Apply security best practices and improve reliability, observability, and incident response.
• Write high-quality, well-tested code with strong CI/CD and documentation.
• Collaborate with Product, Design, Security, Identity, and adjacent teams to shape the roadmap.
