Job summary

ID.me is seeking a Senior Software Engineer for the Wallet/Authentication Platform in Mountain View, CA. You will design, build, and ship core sign-in, registration, MFA, and account management features used by hundreds of brands and millions of members.

You will own security, reliability, and performance of the authentication stack, partner with Product, Design, and Security, and mentor junior engineers. This position is based in Mountain View, CA and requires on-site work five days a week.

Qualifications

• Bachelor's degree or equivalent practical experience.
• 5+ years of professional software development with full-stack web focus.
• 1+ years using AI-assisted development tooling (e.g., Claude Code, Cursor).
• 3+ years Java and Spring Boot with production web services.

Responsibilities

• Design, build, maintain, and ship the Wallet/Authentication platform features end-to-end.
• Own real-time risk, abuse detection, and security across auth flows.
• Maintain code quality with tests, reviews, CI/CD, and documentation.
• Integrate with MFA providers and internal identity services.
• Collaborate with Product, Design, Security, and other teams; mentor juniors.
