Job summary

ID.me is seeking a Senior Software Engineer to join the Wallet/Authentication Platform team, building core sign-in, registration, MFA, account recovery, and MyWallet experiences used by millions. You’ll own features end-to-end, balancing security, usability, and scale while partnering with Product, Design, and Security to ship production-ready code.

You will work from our Mountain View, CA office five days per week, contributing across the authentication stack and helping drive reliability,

Qualifications

• Bachelor's degree in Computer Science, Engineering, or related field.
• 5+ years of professional software development experience with strong full-stack web engineering.
• 1+ years of AI-assisted development tooling (Claude Code, Cursor).
• 3+ years of experience in Java and Spring Boot, with production web services.

Responsibilities

• Build & Ship Authentication Features: design, build, maintain, and improve Wallet authentication (sign-in, registration, MFA, account recovery, MyWallet).
• Security, Risk & Reliability: real-time risk detection and abuse mitigation across authentication flows.
• Code Quality & Engineering Craft: write high-quality, tested code with CI/CD and documentation.
• Third-Party & Internal Integrations: integrate with MFA providers, email/SMS, internal identity services.
• Cross-Functional Collaboration: partner with Product, Design, Security, Identity, and other teams.
• Mentorship & Leadership: guide junior engineers through reviews, design discussions, and pairing.
