Job summary

GBA in Austin, TX seeks a Transportation Project Manager to lead design and delivery of municipal transportation projects in Central Texas. You’ll manage scope, schedules, and budgets, mentor staff, and coordinate with clients and internal teams to ensure high-quality solutions.

Qualified candidates have a Civil Engineering degree, Texas PE license, 10+ years in transportation design, and proven leadership in project delivery.

Qualifications

• Bachelor’s degree in Civil Engineering.
• Texas PE license required.
• 10+ years in transportation project design and delivery.
• Minimum 2 years project and staff management (5+ years preferred).
• Lead design teams across transportation project types.
• Experience developing scopes, fees, budgets, and schedules.
• Proficient with MicroStation and OpenRoads Designer.
• Knowledge of Texas regulatory requirements.
• Central Texas market presence or relationship-building ability preferred.
• Experience with project pursuits and client presentations.

Responsibilities

• Manage and lead design of transportation projects, including feasibility studies, roadway reconstruction and rehabilitation, intersections, local streets, arterials, FM/RM roadways, sidewalks, and ADA facilities.
• Build and lead multidisciplinary project teams, providing technical guidance and hands-on support.
• Plan, organize, and monitor project scope, schedules, and budgets to ensure successful delivery.
• Mentor and coach less experienced staff, supporting their technical development and career growth.
• Support hiring efforts and help build a strong municipal transportation design team.
• Maintain and strengthen relationships with existing clients while developing new partnerships.
• Participate in business development activities, including proposals, client meetings, and marketing efforts to grow GBA’s presence in the Austin and Central Texas market.
• Collaborate with internal teams to deliver high-quality, coordinated solutions that meet client and regulatory requirements.
