Job summary

Scion Staffing, Inc. is seeking a Controller in Austin, TX to own the day-to-day accounting function and partner with a fractional CFO. The role includes closing the books, managing bills, and rebuilding accounting processes, with AI/tech-driven efficiency improvements.

Initial onsite work for 90 days, then transition to a hybrid schedule. Competitive compensation and direct impact on a cosmetic and plastic surgery practice’s financial operations.

Qualifications

• Strong accounting experience with ability to own a full accounting function.
• Healthcare industry accounting experience preferred.
• Proficiency with QuickBooks required.
• Experience with ModMed preferred.
• Ability to identify opportunities to apply AI in accounting.

Responsibilities

• Own and manage the day-to-day accounting function, ensuring accurate and timely financial operations.
• Lead the month-end close process and maintain accurate books and financial records.
• Manage bill payment and other ongoing accounting responsibilities.
• Evaluate current accounting processes and rebuild or improve workflows to create a stronger, more efficient accounting function.
• Partner closely with the fractional CFO on financial operations, priorities, and accounting initiatives.
• Identify opportunities to leverage AI and technology to improve accounting processes and operational efficiency.
