Job summary

Amazon Web Services, Inc. is seeking a Specialist Solutions Architect for Aurora PostgreSQL to architect, migrate, and operate PostgreSQL workloads on Amazon Aurora and Amazon RDS for large, complex customers.

You will own migrations, advise on storage, replication, and performance, and collaborate with the Aurora service team to shape reusable patterns and the product roadmap. Expect active engagement at AWS events and ongoing PostgreSQL ecosystem monitoring.

Qualifications

• Hands-on experience with Aurora PostgreSQL, RDS for PostgreSQL, or significant time with AWS database and migration services.
• Led migrations to Aurora as the technical owner and experience with large scale deployments.
• Deep knowledge of PostgreSQL internals, MVCC, vacuum, query planner/optimizer, replication, and extensions.
• Software development experience (Python, Java, etc.) and familiarity with AI tooling.

Responsibilities

• Serve as the technical advisor for key customers migrating to or operating Aurora PostgreSQL and RDS for PostgreSQL.
• Design and validate architectures leveraging storage auto-scaling, read replicas, Global Database, and Serverless features.
• Partner with the Aurora service team to surface customer needs and contribute to roadmap discussions.
• Engage with customers in whiteboard sessions, architecture reviews, and deep-dive technical discussions.
• Publish technical content such as blogs, white papers, and reference architectures.
• Present at AWS events (re:Invent, Summits) and maintain current knowledge of PostgreSQL developments.
