Job summary

Amazon Web Services, Inc. is seeking an experienced Specialist Solutions Architect for Aurora PostgreSQL in San Francisco to architect, migrate, and operate PostgreSQL workloads on Amazon Aurora and Amazon RDS.

You will guide customers through deep technical migrations, performance tuning, and scalable production architectures. Expect collaboration with service teams, mentorship, and thought leadership in the PostgreSQL community.

Qualifications

• 8+ years of technology domain experience including software, cloud, systems or data engineering
• Experience with Aurora PostgreSQL, RDS for PostgreSQL, or AWS database and migration services (DMS, SCT)
• Experience architecting PostgreSQL solutions at scale (multi-TB databases, many connections, cross-region replication)
• Hands-on PostgreSQL migrations from Oracle/SQL Server or on-prem to Aurora PostgreSQL

Responsibilities

• Serve as the technical advisor for AWS customers running or migrating to Aurora PostgreSQL and RDS for PostgreSQL
• Design and validate architectures leveraging storage auto-scaling, read replicas, Global Database, HA/DR, and Serverless
• Engage with customers in architecture reviews and whiteboard sessions, providing candor and scale-focused guidance
• Publish technical content and reusable artifacts to elevate the PostgreSQL community on AWS
• Present at AWS events and customer workshops and stay current with PostgreSQL developments
