Job summary

Amazon Web Services, Inc. is seeking a Specialist Solutions Architect for Aurora PostgreSQL to lead complex PostgreSQL migrations and operations for AWS’s largest customers.

You will architect, migrate, and operate PostgreSQL workloads on Aurora and RDS, focusing on performance, scaling, replication, and high availability. You will drive migrations from Oracle/SQL Server to Aurora, engineer production architectures, and collaborate with the Aurora service team to close feature gaps and guide the

Qualifications

• 8+ years of IT development or consulting experience in software/Internet industries.
• Hands-on experience with Aurora PostgreSQL, RDS for PostgreSQL, or significant time with AWS database and migration services (DMS, SCT).
• Led migrations to Aurora as the technical owner.
• Experience with Aurora PostgreSQL features: storage architecture, fast cloning, Global Database, and deployment strategies.

Responsibilities

• Serve as the technical advisor for AWS customers migrating to Aurora PostgreSQL and RDS for PostgreSQL.
• Design and validate Aurora PostgreSQL architectures leveraging storage auto-scaling, read replicas, Global Database, and Serverless options.
• Partner with product teams to surface customer pain points and participate in roadmap reviews.
• Lead architecture reviews and whiteboard sessions with customer engineers to ensure scalable designs.
• Publish technical content and contribute to thought leadership across the PostgreSQL community on AWS.
