Job summary

Amazon Web Services, Inc. is seeking a Specialist Solutions Architect for Aurora PostgreSQL to guide architecture, migrations, and operations of PostgreSQL workloads on Amazon Aurora and Amazon RDS.

You will partner with customers’ engineers and CTOs to design well-architected production architectures and lead migrations from Oracle/SQL Server on premises, ensuring reliability and performance under real-world pressure.

Qualifications

• 8+ years in technology domains (e.g. software, cloud, systems, data).
• 3+ years in design, implementation or consulting for apps/infrastructures.
• Hands-on with Aurora PostgreSQL, RDS for PostgreSQL, or AWS migration services (DMS).
• Led migrations to Aurora as the technical owner.
• Experience with Aurora features: storage, Global Database, performance insights, blue/green deployments.

Responsibilities

• Serve as technical advisor for AWS customers using Aurora PostgreSQL & RDS for PostgreSQL.
• Guide customers on performance, scaling, high availability, monitoring, patching, security.
• Design architectures leveraging Aurora capabilities (storage auto-scaling, read replicas, Global Database).
• Partner with Aurora service team, surface customer pain points, drive feature enhancements.
• Engage in whiteboard sessions, architecture reviews, and deep dives with customers.
• Publish technical leadership content (blogs, white papers, reference architectures).
• Advise on complex migrations (Oracle, SQL Server, others to Aurora PostgreSQL).
• Present at AWS events and customer workshops.
• Stay current with PostgreSQL developments and translate to guidance.
