Job summary

Amazon in Mountain View is seeking an AWS Specialist Solutions Architect with deep MySQL/Aurora expertise to help customers architect, migrate, optimize, and operate MySQL workloads on Aurora and RDS. You will design well-architected production systems for demanding workloads and collaborate with customer engineers and technology leaders.

You will share best practices through blogs, whitepapers, reference architectures, and speaking engagements at AWS events, while helping build an internal AWS

Qualifications

5+ years IT development or implementation/consulting in software or Internet industries.
Hands-on experience with Aurora MySQL or RDS for MySQL.
Experience leading migrations to Aurora as the technical owner.
Deep knowledge of MySQL and InnoDB internals, including transactions and locking, MVCC.
Experience with MySQL replication, binary logs, and failover.

Responsibilities

Design scalable architectures to address MySQL workloads on Amazon Aurora and RDS.
Collaborate with customer engineers and tech leadership to architect, migrate, optimize and operate MySQL workloads.
Contribute best-practices via blogs, whitepapers, reference architectures, and events.
Share feedback with Aurora service team to influence features and roadmap.
