Sikich is seeking a Staff Accountant (Audit) in Alexandria, VA to join our government services practice. The role focuses on delivering high‑quality audit services for state and local clients and developing professional skills within a collaborative team.

You will contribute to on‑site audits, ensure data accuracy, and prepare reports under supervision, with opportunities for coaching and advancement.

Qualifications

• BA/BS in Accounting or equivalent.
• CPA or CPA Candidate actively pursuing CPA.
• Experience with governmental auditing preferred.
• Strong verbal, written and presentation skills.

Responsibilities

• Develop knowledge of state government auditing standards and procedures.
• Participate as a team member and complete tasks with increasing complexity.
• Conduct on-site audit procedures at agency locations.
• Draft reports and findings with engagement teams.
• Proficiency with MS Office and accounting software.
• Build client relationships and manage projects effectively.
