Job summary

Novogradac & Company LLP is seeking a Principal in California to oversee audit engagements with minimal supervision, emphasizing technical review, engagement supervision, and mentoring. You will manage planning, staffing, and timely delivery while maintaining quality and client relationships.

The ideal candidate has a CPA license and 15+ years in public accounting audits, with advanced knowledge of complex project- and fund-level auditing standards. Travel domestically may be required.

Qualifications

• Bachelor’s degree in accounting or finance; CPA preferred.
• Experience reviewing complex project-level or fund-level audits is preferred.
• Strong technical understanding of auditing and accounting standards applicable to complex engagements; ability to research, resolve, document technical matters.

Responsibilities

• Oversee assigned audit engagements and provide technical review with minimal supervision.
• Plan, staff, timing, technical issues, review comments, documentation quality, and timely completion with Partner coordination.
• Review financial statements and audit workpapers; document conclusions and resolve complex technical matters.
• Mentor staff and develop professional skills; maintain a respectful team atmosphere.
• Identify high value-added opportunities for existing Firm clients; support technical reputation through training and publications.
• Maintain client relationships through professionalism, responsiveness, and technical competence.
• Support office and Firm profitability by efficient time management and high-quality engagement delivery.
