Job summary

KPMG in New York is seeking an Audit Intern to assist the Audit and Assurance team with financial statement audits for capital markets. You will learn to document processes, test controls, and support data-driven audits using AI, Excel, Alteryx, SQL and Power BI.

The internship requires enrollment in a Bachelor or Master of Accountancy, CPA licensure pursuit, and coursework in accounting with a GPA of 3.0+; in-person collaboration is expected and Japanese language skills are a plus.

Qualifications

• Enrollment in a college/university to pursue Bachelor of Accountancy, Master of Accountancy, or equivalent.
• Pursuing CPA licensure requirements in principal place of business.
• Completion of at least one college-level accounting course at application time.
• Preferred GPA of 3.0 or above.
• Coursework in information systems, software engineering, or data analytics; experience with Alteryx or Power BI preferred.

Responsibilities

• Conduct financial statement audits and assist in ensuring accuracy and reliability of client information.
• Prepare clear audit documentation and translate findings into actionable insights.
• Test client controls and account balances with appropriate standards; document results.
• Support high-quality audit execution and professional engagement interactions.
• Contribute to data-driven audits using AI, Excel, Alteryx, SQL and Power BI.
