Qualifications

• Approximately 10 years' experience in public accounting and at least 2 years in a senior manager role with public sector focus.
• Bachelor's degree in accounting or related field.
• Holds a current and valid CPA license.
• Ability to travel to client and firm office locations.
• Demonstrated ability to bring in new business to a CPA Firm.
• Experience conducting audits under GAAS, GAGAS/Yellow Book, and the Uniform Guidance.
• Exposure to audits of not-for-profit organizations.
• Maintains compliance with firm-wide policies and procedures.

Responsibilities

• Maintains contact with clients year-round and manages multiple engagements.
• Reports to engagement partner or serves as engagement partner on engagements as per firm policies.
• Signs attest opinions when assigned as engagement partner.
• Oversees all phases of engagement reporting ensuring compliance with accounting framework and firm policy.
• Keeps engagement partner informed of developments and resolves issues with partner input.
• Ensures engagements are properly scheduled and staffed.
• Serves as a subject matter expert in governmental sector.
• Ensures billing and collections follow firm policy.
• Supervises staff and reviews work papers and reports.
• Participates in staff performance evaluations and coaching.
• Involved in recruitment and interviews for Assurance and Advisory roles.
• Leads business development and client meetings; develops fee estimates and pursues prospective clients.
• Maintains compliance with firm-wide policies and procedures.
