Job summary

Agresta, Storms & O’Leary, PC is seeking an Audit Associate to join its assurance practice in central Indiana. This entry‑level to early‑career role offers hands‑on experience across nonprofit, real estate, manufacturing, and construction clients, plus mentorship and a clear path for advancement.

Based in one of six Indianapolis area offices, you will perform audits, prepare workpapers, and participate in fieldwork at client sites, with CPA licensure pursued and travel as needed.

Qualifications

• Bachelor’s degree in Accounting is required.
• 1–2+ years of public accounting experience.
• CPA eligible, with plan to sit for the exam.
• Strong attention to detail and organizational skills.
• Solid written and verbal communication skills.
• Proficiency with Microsoft Excel and learning new software.
• Willingness to travel to client sites in Indiana.

Responsibilities

• Perform audit, review, and compilation procedures for nonprofit, real estate, manufacturing, and construction clients under supervision.
• Prepare workpapers, test account balances and transactions, and document procedures.
• Gather, organize, and analyze client data, including reconciliations and supporting schedules.
• Assist with the preparation of financial statements and footnote disclosures.
• Participate in fieldwork at client sites, including inventory observations and internal control walkthroughs.
• Identify issues during fieldwork and communicate with engagement team with documentation.
• Communicate with clients on routine matters with supervision.
• Build proficiency in audit software and GAAP fundamentals.
• Pursue CPA licensure and develop technical depth.
