Job summary

Cherry Bekaert LLP in Tysons, VA is seeking an Audit Staff to join our Virginia office. You will work on a wide variety of audit engagements under supervision, serving clients from various industries and communicating with project in-charges and clients.

You will develop technical accounting skills while conducting audits of financial statements, preparing workpapers and checklists, and organizing client files. Travel may be required, and overtime is common during busy cycles.

Qualifications

• Bachelor's degree in accounting or related field.
• Masters preferred CPA certification or eligibility.
• GPA 3.0/4.0 or above preferred.
• Proficiency with computers and spreadsheet software.
• Ability to travel to client sites, including frequent same-day travel.
• Ability to work moderate overtime during busy cycles.

Responsibilities

• Work on a wide variety of audit engagements under the supervision of different accounting professionals.
• Engage and serve clients from various industries.
• Communicate with project in-charges and clients.
• Develop technical accounting skills while performing audits of financial statements.
• Prepare audit checklists and adjust journal entries.
• Gain business writing experience while preparing financial statements alongside clients.
• Prepare and organize workpapers for client files.
• Perform other essential duties as needed.
