Job summary

Cherry Bekaert, a leading U.S. accounting and advisory firm, invites you to join as Audit Staff. You will work on a variety of audit engagements under supervision, engaging clients from different industries and communicating with project in-charges and clients.

You will develop technical accounting skills while auditing financial statements, preparing checklists and journal entries, and organizing client workpapers. The role may require travel and occasional overtime as cycles vary.

Qualifications

• Bachelor's degree in accounting or related field required.
• Masters preferred CPA certified or eligible to work toward CPA license.
• GPA 3.0/4.0 or above preferred but not required.
• Proficiency with computers and spreadsheet software programs.
• Ability to travel to client sites as needed, including frequent same-day travel and occasional out-of-town travel.
• Ability to work moderate overtime throughout the year with heavier overtime during certain business cycles.

Responsibilities

• As an Audit Staff at Cherry Bekaert, you will work on a wide variety of audit engagements under the supervision of different accounting professionals.
• Engage and serve clients from various industries
• Communicate with project in-charges and clients
• Develop technical accounting skills while performing audits of financial statements
• Prepare audit checklists and adjust journal entries
• Gain business writing experience while preparing financial statements alongside clients
• Prepare and organize workpapers for client files
• Perform other essential duties as needed
