Job summary

Cherry Bekaert is seeking an Audit Staff to work on a wide variety of audit engagements under the supervision of accounting professionals.

You will develop technical accounting skills, prepare audit workpapers and financial statements, and communicate effectively with clients while gaining exposure to multiple industries. Travel to client sites is required, with potential overtime during busy cycles.

Qualifications

• Bachelor's degree in accounting or related field.
• Masters preferred CPA certified or the eligibility to work toward obtaining a CPA license.
• Cumulative GPA of 3.0/4.0 or above preferred, but not required.
• Proficiency with computers and spreadsheet software programs.
• Ability to travel to client sites as needed, including frequent same-day travel and occasional out-of-town travel.
• Ability to work moderate overtime throughout the year with heavier overtime required during certain business cycles.

Responsibilities

• Engage and serve clients from various industries
• Communicate with project in-charges and clients
• Develop technical accounting skills while performing audits of financial statements
• Prepare audit checklists and adjust journal entries
• Gain business writing experience while preparing financial statements alongside clients
• Prepare and organize workpapers for client files
• Perform other essential duties as needed
