Job summary

Cherry Bekaert is seeking an Audit Staff to work on a wide variety of audit engagements under supervision of accounting professionals. You will engage and serve clients across industries, communicate with project in-charges and clients, and develop technical accounting skills while auditing financial statements.

The role requires a Bachelor's degree in accounting (Masters preferred), CPA eligibility, a 3.0+ GPA preferred, strong computer/spreadsheet skills, and willingness to travel including

Qualifications

• Bachelor’s degree in accounting or related field; Masters preferred.
• CPA certified or the eligibility to work toward obtaining a CPA license.
• GPA of 3.0/4.0 or above preferred, not required.
• Proficiency with computers and spreadsheet software programs.
• Ability to travel to client sites as needed, including frequent same-day travel and occasional out-of-town travel.
• Ability to work moderate overtime throughout the year with heavier overtime during certain business cycles.

Responsibilities

• Engage and serve clients from various industries.
• Communicate with project in-charges and clients.
• Develop technical accounting skills while performing audits of financial statements.
• Prepare audit checklists and adjust journal entries.
• Gain business writing experience while preparing financial statements alongside clients.
• Prepare and organize workpapers for client files.
• Perform other essential duties as needed.
