Job summary

Boston Medical Center in Boston seeks a Co-op Student, Audiology in the New Born Hearing Testing department. The per diem position provides on-the-job training under the Audiology Supervisor or Manager, with patient care and clerical tasks supporting clinical operations.

You will learn basic audiology procedures, conduct newborn hearing screenings after training, counsel families on hearing technology, assist with equipment inventory, and help with front desk operations to improve the patient

Qualifications

• High school or equivalent required.
• American Heart Association Basic Life Support (BLS) CPR certification required.

Responsibilities

• Performs newborn hearing screenings after training and documents in the EMR.
• Assists in basic audiology procedures and screenings.
• Instructs patients/families in hearing technology usage.
• Troubleshoots devices and drafts repair requisitions.
• Assists with administrative needs and scheduling.
• Maintains organization of equipment and records.
• Carries out newborn hearing screenings and reports to the Department of Public Health as applicable.
• Attends in-services and participates in team meetings.
• Works on weekends and holidays as assigned.
• Supports front desk operations to optimize patient experience.
