Oak Grove Technologies, LLC, a dynamic and fast-growing federal contractor, is seeking a highly skilled and motivated Audio/Visual Technician to support operations at the Federal Law Enforcement Training Center (FLETC) in Artesia, New Mexico.

Requirements

Equipment Maintenance and Repair:

  • Inspect, test, maintain, and repair various audio/visual equipment, including projectors, tape recorders, public address systems, etc.
  • Coordinate corrective maintenance efforts for electrical and electronic equipment and system failures, ensuring repairs or replacements are completed within 48 hours.
  • Operate and visually examine equipment to diagnose malfunctions; disassemble units to identify and replace defective components.
  • Conduct testing on exciter lamps, projector lamps, fuses, sound drums, and power circuits to ensure proper functionality.
  • Maintain accurate inventory records for all audio/visual equipment and support the annual property inventory process.

Audio/Visual Program Management:

  • Plan and oversee audio/visual programs, including assisting users with material selection and advising Government personnel on appropriate materials.
  • Evaluate audio/visual content for technical quality, informational value, and aesthetic standards; select materials for inclusion in the library’s collection.
  • Prepare acquisition summaries for cataloging and coordinate group presentations by arranging suitable audio/visual programs.

Troubleshooting and Technical Support:

  • Provide technical support for audio/visual systems, including monitors, amplifiers, and computer equipment.
  • Diagnose and resolve issues such as display and monitor malfunctions, audio disruptions, computer failures, and network connectivity problems.
  • Collaborate with IT support teams for account access issues and software-related issues.
  • Perform maintenance and basic repairs on company IT hardware, including computers, monitors, printers, and networking devices.

End-of-Month (EOM) Classroom Inspection:

  • Conduct comprehensive classroom inspections on the 25th of each month.
  • Physically evaluate all AV components, including audio systems, amplifiers, televisions, monitors, and projector bulbs for proper operation.
  • Document the condition of equipment and note any issues encountered during inspection.
  • Report facility-related maintenance concerns (e.g., damaged tiles, leaks, lighting issues) to the appropriate maintenance personnel.

Photography Documentation:

  • Capture video footage of special events as directed by the Contracting Officer's Representative (COR), typically five two-hour sessions and two eight-hour sessions annually.
  • Take photographs of events according to provided specifications, ensuring proper setup and timely image capture.
  • Organize and manage digital photo assets, including editing, cropping, and storing files in designated directories.
  • Maintain and update photo editing templates, ensuring accuracy in dates and event details.
  • Collaborate with Education Aides to finalize and print approved photographs for official documentation.

Qualifications

  • High school diploma or equivalent is preferred.
  • Must be capable of lifting and transporting audio/visual equipment.
  • Previous experience in the maintenance and troubleshooting of audio/visual equipment is highly desirable.
  • Familiarity with photography and digital recording technologies is a plus.
  • Strong organizational and time management skills are essential.
  • Excellent communication skills and the ability to work collaboratively within a team environment.
  • Availability to work on weekends and Federal Holidays as needed/required.
