Job summary

AutoNation Inc. is seeking a Title Clerk to prepare and submit vehicle tag and title documents with accuracy. You will input title data into our auction software for sold vehicles and verify DMV fees, ensuring all filings comply with state regulations.

Responsibilities include maintaining vehicle jackets, shipping titles, and resolving any fee discrepancies by researching VIN records. Strong attention to detail and customer service are essential.

Qualifications

• High school diploma or equivalent.
• 2 years dealership experience preferred.
• Previous tag and title experience preferred.
• Ability to read and comprehend instructions.
• Excellent communication and customer service skills.
• Comprehensive knowledge of title & DMV laws and regulations.
• Experience with DMV or Auction Edge/ASI auction systems is a plus.

Responsibilities

• Prepare tag and title documents.
• Submit all legal transfer documents to the DMV.
• Prepare checks to reimburse Buyers for DMV fees.
• Input title information into auction software for sold cars.
• Determine outstanding fees by looking up VIN in state DMV system.
• Maintain vehicle jackets.
• Keep titles secured until customers retrieve them.
• Prepare express shipments or registered mail to send titles.
• Administer all title processing for auction transactions.
• Create title reports and amounts owed for flooring companies.
• Stay current with applicable state laws and DMV regulations.
