Job description

The Position

A leading consumer products company is seeking a senior Marketing & AdvertisingAttorney with 10+ years of experience to provide urgent legal support across a diverse portfolio of well‑known consumer brands. The attorney will serve as a key legal partner to Marketing and collaborate closely with R&D, Regulatory Affairs, Trademark, and other stakeholders.

The ideal candidate brings strong in‑house consumer products experience, particularly involving cosmetics and OTC products, with sophisticated experience in advertising, marketing, product claims and substantiation. The work will include claims and supporting clinical data, labels and packaging, e‑commerce and digital content, social and influencer campaigns, and related FDA/FTC considerations. Experience navigating the nuanced regulatory distinctions between cosmetics and OTC drugs is particularly important.

This role is best suited for a practical, business‑minded attorney who can independently evaluate risk, develop a clear recommendation, and help the business find a legally defensible path forward. The attorney must be comfortable managing multiple brands and priorities in a fast‑paced environment while collaborating effectively and escalating issues appropriately when needed. Experience at a major consumer goods organization and direct cosmetics experience are particularly desirable.

This project starts ASAP, is ongoing, fully remote with East Coast strongly preferred and NJ hybrid or onsite as a plus, and requires 40 hours/week. The hourly rate for this assignment is expected to be between $110and $115. This range is an estimate; an employee’s compensation will be based on the employee’s qualifications, skillset, and relevant experience, specific client needs, project requirements, and other considerations permitted by law.
