Job summary

State of Wisconsin’s DSPS is seeking a licensed attorney to join the Division of Legal Services and Compliance in Madison. This LTE role provides legal services across multiple clients and disciplinary matters, with a hybrid schedule and a requirement to work from the Hill Farms Building at least 2 days per week.

The position handles investigations of complaints, advises clients, negotiates resolutions, and may initiate formal disciplinary actions when needed.

What We Are Looking For:

A licensed attorney to join the Division of Legal Services and Compliance to provide legal services to various parties.

Where We Are Located:

This position offers a hybridized work schedule. The position will be headquartered at and required to work from the Hill Farms State Office Building in Madison, WI at least 2 days per week. Wisconsin residency is required for Limited Term Employment positions. This topic will be discussed more at the time of the interview.

Position Summary

This position assists with investigations of complaints against credential holders of the department and regulatory authorities; assists professionals in achieving compliance; negotiates stipulated resolutions of complaints; and commences formal disciplinary action against credential holders of the department and regulatory authorities when stipulations are not possible.

Salary Information

This position is in schedule-range (09-75) with an hourly rate between $38.00 to $44.00.

This is a Limited Term Employment (LTE) position and limited to 1,039 hours in 26 consecutive pay periods (1 year).

Wisconsin Residency Is Required For Limited Term Employment Positions.

Limited Term Employment (LTE) positions are not civil service classified positions, do not give any rights to permanent civil service classified positions and do not lead to permanent status.

Qualifications

A minimum requirement for this position is the ability to practice law in the State of Wisconsin at the time of application deadline.

Qualified applicants will have training or experience with all the following:

• Training and/or experience conducting legal research and making determinations based on legal research.
• Training and/or experience providing legal advice and interpretations to clients.
• Training and/or experience drafting legal analysis/opinion letters or documents.
