Job summary

The State of Indiana invites qualified attorneys to join the Office of the Inspector General as Deputy Inspector General, Enforcement. This role supports legal, advisory, and investigative functions, including drafting opinions, evaluating evidence, and presenting at hearings before the State Ethics Commission.

You must handle sensitive information with discretion and maintain high professional standards. The position offers a comprehensive benefits package and opportunities to influence policy

Qualifications

  • Licensed attorney in good standing with Indiana Bar Admission.
  • Strong knowledge of statutes, case law, and rules.
  • Ability to follow Indiana Administrative Orders and Procedures Act (IC 4-21.5).
  • Excellent oral and written communication.
  • Strong legal research and writing; litigation ability.

Responsibilities

  • Draft informal advisory opinions using ethics laws and facts.
  • Evaluate evidence in investigations and draft recommendations.
  • Screen complaints and provide resources to reporting parties.
  • Deliver OIG training activities and present at conferences.
  • Draft reports, memoranda, and administrative rules.
  • Represent the OIG before the SEC in cases.
