Job summary

Ropes & Gray LLP is seeking an Attorney Development Manager to oversee attorney development across practice groups, coordinating staffing and training opportunities and supporting performance reviews and strategic workforce planning.

The role collaborates with practice group leaders, ADPs and other teams to staff associates, monitor workloads and provide development opportunities in a hybrid, multi-office environment.

Qualifications

• J.D. and 4 to 6 years of practice experience, preferably at a peer law firm.
• Proficiency with Microsoft Office, especially Excel; viDesktop is a plus.
• Strong communication, interpersonal and organizational skills.
• Ability to work independently and flexibly, managing multiple tasks.

Responsibilities

• Partner with practice and specialty group leaders and ADPs to provide a seamless integration of staffing and training opportunities for associates.
• Collaborate to ensure individual development needs are addressed and provide regular feedback between partners and associates.
• Assist with associate feedback processes and ensure clear, actionable feedback and future goals.
• Track, analyze and report associate metrics such as availability and utilization.
• Support professional development initiatives, including recruiting materials and orientation, training camps and mentoring programs.
