Job summary

Elizabeth Rosario Law, PLC in Charlotte, North Carolina or remote is seeking an experienced immigration attorney to lead removal-defense matters. You will manage Master Calendar and Individual Hearings, handle asylum cases, cancellation of removal, bond issues, and complex litigation.

You must be bilingual in Spanish and English, with at least four years of immigration practice and strong research, writing, and advocacy skills.

Qualifications

• J.D. from an accredited law school and active bar membership in good standing (any U.S. jurisdiction).
• Minimum 4 years of immigration law experience with substantial removal defense and litigation experience.
• Fluency in Spanish and English required.
• Significant experience appearing before EOIR and handling appeals before the BIA.
• Experience with asylum, cancellation of removal, VAWA, U visas, and family-based immigration matters strongly preferred.
• Strong legal research, writing, and oral advocacy skills.
• Exceptional organizational skills and ability to manage competing deadlines.
• Demonstrated leadership, mentorship, and team collaboration abilities.

Removal Proceedings Asylum Cancellation of Removal Appeals & Litigation

*This position is either REMOTE or located at either of our two offices in Charlotte, North Carolina or Grand Rapids, Michigan.*

You understand that winning removal cases requires far more than filing applications and hoping for discretion.

You know how to identify weaknesses in a case early, build a compelling evidentiary record, prepare clients for difficult testimony, and develop strategies that maximize relief options.

You are comfortable navigating complex issues involving asylum, nexus, credibility findings, criminal-immigration consequences, cancellation eligibility, inadmissibility grounds, detention and bond issues, and evolving immigration court precedent.

You have stood in immigration court, defended cases under pressure, and understand that strong removal defense work demands preparation, strategy, and advocacy at every stage of litigation.

We are hiring a bilingual (Spanish/English) attorney with substantial experience handling:

This is not an entry-level role.

This is not a position for someone who needs extensive supervision to manage litigation deadlines or courtroom advocacy.

And this is definitely not a role for someone whose strategy begins and ends with filing a continuance request.
